I stay at The Westin’s in Memphis and in NOLA, I’m very impressed with Jackson’s decor and amenities. The new, tech-friendly rooms are very inviting and comfortable. The restaurant, bar and lounge areas are ultra-modern and extremely attractive. I think they should have added more executive suites but the market may not be here for them.
Pretty nice hotel, brand new. Nice gym and the staff is decent. The restaurant staff on the other hand are very slow an inattentive. I've stayed here a few times and the restaurant staff is the only thing lacking
I freely admit it, I'm a Marriott guy (for life) but now that this place is open, and since the two chains are merging, I made a point of staying here just after they opened. It's definitely worth checking this place out!
Wonderful brand new hotel. Management has a very sincere approach to service and my experience could not have been better. The restaurant and spa are both very nice and hit the mark - both are worth the trip even if not staying at the Westin. In 15 years of traveling to Jackson, I’ve stayed at every reputable hotel in town and the Westin sets the bar for an upscale and service minded hotel in Jackson.
From a practical standpoint, my only complaint is that I don't think the architect was from the south or thought very much (at all?) about the Mississippi weather. It rains over 100 days a year here but they gave the entrance a roof made of open wooden beams, offering ZERO cover. So, whether you're getting back from dinner or a long day of work, or coming to attend a wedding reception, and it's raining, YOU WILL GET WET (even if you valet). Not the end of the world, just poor planning.
Since the building is new and custom built, not repurposed, everything about the lobby, rooms and ancillary facilities is fantastic. I didn't attend any functions in the ballrooms, but friends have and were also impressed. The fitness center even has Peletons!
This hotel is amazing! It's only a few months old and is by far the nicest hotel in Jackson MS. The restaurant attached is amazing and the food is very decently priced for the quality you are getting. The rooms are top notch and beds are the comfiest. Spa like bathrooms are a must nowadays. You won't be disappointed staying at this place.
Jackson's newest (and arguably best) upscale hotel
There's not much of a night-life left in downtown Jackson, but if you'd like to go out for a walk it might make you feel a bit safer knowing the police department is next door and the state version of the FBI is close-by. If I hadn't told you that, you might not have noticed. It just feels comfortable, like the storied Southern Capitol that it is.
