All the workers was great, they were knowledgeable, kind and pleasant. The dinning room staff was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. I was very satisfied with my stay and would recommend it to anyone who has to be in that area. Thanks for your hospitality. I am ok with the stars
The couple positive aspect I can say: Firstly, is that the staff are very friendly and courteous, as much as expected from any Marriott. Secondly, The lobby is very well maintained.
The Downtown Marriott is my no means a budget hotel. They have a internal restaurant, but I'd rather eat gas station sandwiches then the overpriced meals they're restaurant pushes out.
If you have to choose a hotel in the Jackson area, I'd stay clear of the hotel in question. I consistently patron Marriott hotels as my brand choice for work - this location has significantly fallen behind current brand standards, and heavily relies on outdated features to support its higher caliber rating.
It is an older hotel in an older part of town, and it lives right up to that. The attached photo is one of the first signs of decay I noticed during my stay, and it progresses.
I stay at the Jackson Marriott at least two nights every week for my job. The staff are very friendly and helpful if there's anything you need. The concierge lounge is wonderful. The lobby is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious, but somewhat outdated, but they are beginning renovations soon! The beds are the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on and the down pillows add to the comfort. All around great place to stay.
Very nice hotel, but really need to work on c Keeping carpet clean and updated. You could smell that the carpet needed updating or something. A little poor management as it relates to the finer details to make a hotel in this category Great. But many times, management don't take initiative, because of who they think may be their patron. But overall, it was good during my seminar with Sonicwall.
I traveled around Jackson for two weeks while staying at the Downtown Marriott, and some exact quotes from various Uber and Cab drivers include: "You couldn't pay me to stay at that hotel!" and "The lobby can sure fool you"
It's a very nice hotel in the middle of Jackson Mississippi. The location is great if you have business downtown. It was very busy the week I was there, but the staff still handled everything well.
