Nice little station. Jackson is an ok little town. I checked out the zoo and had a great time. I look forward to visiting again.
Convenient & cheap way to travel, and the staff are outstanding. Michael went out of his way to accommodate our trip and could not have been any nicer.
Being that I have a car I never considered taking the train, but this week proved to be a great alternative to driving. I took the train from NOLA to Jackson,Mississippi, it was a very comfortable, clean, safe, and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to take the train back home instead of getting a rental. A cost me a total of $46 (1st bonus) !! It left promptly on time (both trips) and there was no problem with me keeping what bags I wanted on me and they made it super easy to find my bags that were in baggage claim. Also a bonus for me was that I was able to purchase a couple Coronas and snacks while in route.
We live taking the train from Jackson to New Orleans. It doesn't cost much (for the cost of what parking in Nola would cost we can get our tickets) and parking right across the street is easy and secure. You need to pay for parking when you park the car if you're going to stay over night. There's a small cafe and a convenience store at the station, but you can also get food on the train.
