I first gave a 5-star rating to the folks at this place they were great over the phone but they're lying to you. I've been waiting since the end of July to receive my renewed license and here it is at the end of August without it
If only I could give zero stars! Just like a lot of other people who have written reviews. I sent in to have my cosmetology license renewed in December of 2016. Now it is almost June of 2017. I have been calling multiple times to get an update, and they can never give me a straight answer. I'm also curious as to what they will do once my check expires.
A small office full of sad, angry people who seem to spend their days avoiding phone calls and thinking up excuses so they can collect that pay check to pay that cell phone bill so they have something to do all day at "work". They destroy working professionals lives due to their ineptitude and could not care less. They are running a racket but rumor has it they are about to get their come-uppance via new legislation...heres hoping...
I have been dealing with this state board office since April 2014. Since then, they are on their 3rd Executive director and the people working in the office are constantly changing. You literally have to be a nuisance in order to get the smallest thing done. They lie about what month they are working on processing license renewals(fyi I was just told they are on March/April 2017) due to being backed up. I have called so much in the last 2months it's ridiculous. Then I am a military spouse and we just moved so now I'm dealing with them lying about sending my certification request for the new state. They say it takes 3-5 days it has now been 3weeks and the new state hasn't received anything via email or hardcopy and it doesn't take 3weeks for regular mail to get here. I have left numerous messages with a Ms./Mrs Lee for the last 2 or 3 months and no return call to date. For all this trouble that we go through to get our documents processed and not in a timely manner, I think they should dismantle the board and pass the bill to no longer require licensure it's sad to say and I for one wouldn't want anyone uneducated in the field to be practicing but this makes no sense at all. I have paid my money and sent in the proper docs in a timely manner but I can't get the same courtesy or a choice to expedite the process? Now I'm stuck in limbo can't work and thus is how I pay my bills and support my family. They sleep comfortably every night. They sit at a desk and collect a check every day so their bills are paid regardless. I offered to come work up there since they obviously need the help and I guarantee you that they can pay me 2 people's salary let them go home (except the Secretary) and I would have them caught up in 30 days. Smh......smdh...
