The airport has no food options. I'm pretty easy going but this was awful. On Stage restaurant is a no. Go hungry as one person said as they walked out. Took 20 minutes for what I thought was quick service restaurant. French fries were nearly raw when I got them and the BBQ Sandwich was on a stale brick bun and five chunks of pork that was nearly inseparable. On 7 consecutive occurrences the girl at the counter failed to give any one their cup for drinks and had to be prompted by 4 of the 7 people. Easy in and out here but otherwise awful.
Unless they get someone in Jackson MS that care about the airport and the people, then it will soon close down,...I hope that's not the case. 3 or 4 airlines with crazy prices.
Using Memphis or New Orleans next with good prices with BIG savings!!
Easy in and out but will go elsewhere next trip. Smoke detectors are needed in restrooms. Had to go before departure. Cigarette smoke so thick in men's room I could hardly breathe, but no time to go elsewhere. JAN not a transfer airport so might be an employee offender.
Incoming flights are often extremely delayed. The staff at various counters seem to jump to conclusions and not give you three chances to speak. Although friendly, the staff honestly doesn't take the opportunity to listen to their customers. Further, the airlines seem to think it's okay for customers to drive 3 hours to come to this airport, then find out their flight is delayed. And not a minor delay either, a full day, occasionally two days. The airport does not have any compensations for travelers that are victims of those delays either. There are no hotel vouchers for overnight delays, which typically are provided by the airline, not the airport themselves. It is truly a sad excuse for an airport. I think they should use some of that grant money for better planes as well. I'm pretty sure the plane I arrived on in 2017 is the same plane I rode on in 1998!!! All in all, it would really be nice if I wasn't cut off from the sales counter attendant before I am even able to speak.
I just went through the more degrading experience at this airport. My husband and I just got married and even though I had ID showing both my former and current name he chose to try and show off a total abuse of authority. His name is Patterson supposed supervisor. Totally incompetent. I have never been so upset. He needs training in customer service. Don’t know how he got this far. Spoke to his supervisor and of course she supported his actions. Will make every effort not to return to this country airport again. What the mayor announces on the PA system is totally contradicting as far as the TSA is concerned.
